Hailong Ning has recently joined NIO as the head of Battery Manufacturing Technology & Engineering. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of Battery Engineering at Panasonic Energy of North America, where he led the launch and ramp-up of 35GWh battery production at Gigafactory in Reno, Nevada. He has extensive experiences on lithium ion batteries ranging from materials and cell design to manufacturing process and equipment development. He holds a PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Physics.
